I have been registered on TheRealReal site for awhile and enjoy viewing the items and deals they offer. But I must admit that I haven’t been ready to make a purchase without seeing the item in real time. As part of my trip to LaLa Land, my daughter scheduled an appointment for us to go to the Melrose store. OMG, if you are any kind of a fashionista, this is a must do.
First, you don’t need an appointment to shop there. If you have an appointment, it’s easier to have pieces brought out from the back room as not everything is in on the floor. Jeremiah, a fashion designer with his own line, was the specialist assigned to help us out. We began by touring the store. My daughter was overwhelmed by the Vintage Gucci section and of course I headed to Chanel.
But I had my wish list and as I walked into the handbag section there is sat, the grey leather YSL with a silver chain. I had been up on the website regularly and had not seen this bag, but the heavens had opened and sent my handbag down to me. Of course, I just had to buy it. I now have a wonderful handbag collection, several of which will increase in value.
I also wanted a Hermes scarf and they had a lovely selection. Jeremiah brought out three or four for me to look at and with Madeline’s help I made my choice. This is a great item to buy because you can never have to many scarves and the prices are very good.
One last note. TheRealReal takes its branding seriously. They are playing an important role in recycling and it’s not just a marketing ploy. Everything about the experience demonstrated their adherence to sustainability from the water they provide (no plastic) and the boxes your products are delivered in (a matching box whenever possible).
Make TheRealReal are regular on your list of online sites. It’s for real.
