Loving Dress Designer, Mac Duggal!

Updated: Sep 27, 2019

As a stylist, I am often asked to help women find dresses for their son’s or daughter’s wedding. I love this as I believe they should be the next most beautiful woman at the wedding, after the bride. And I feel that too often women won’t invest in themselves for this special occasion. However, I also feel that mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses have become very dowdy and that women often must spend more than $1,000 to get a beautiful dress, particularly if they are wearing a long gown.

That’s why I have fallen in love with designer Mac Duggal. He creates beautiful gowns for every body type and color palette which is so rare today. In researching Mac Duggal, I learned that he was born in India and early on began merging “the rich, royal history and opulent traditions of his native land with a sophisticated and contemporary design esthetic.”

Recently, I was watching the annual Nurses Ball on General Hospital the soap opera I have watched for more than 50 years. One of my favorite characters Ava Jerome walked the red carpet in a beautiful black gown with crystal sleeves. I was mad for the dress and had to find out who made it. No surprise it was Mac Duggal. In fact, most of the formal dresses worn by the characters were Mac Duggal.

His daughter, Ieena, is also a designer and her line, “a mesmerizing blend of edgy modernism and classic sophistication and grace,” is perfect for prom, bridesmaids or any formal occasion.

If you have a special event coming up, treat yourself to a Mac Duggal dress.
