10 Top Fashion Hits & Misses 2019 Emmy Awards
Updated: Oct 2, 2019
I have been rather busy this fall writing my first book, so I was too busy to write a comprehensive blog on all the fashions from the Emmy Awards. However, there were some stand-out looks that I do want to highlight.
1) Mandy Moore
My winner is Mandy Moore. Wow, did she make a change. She went all-out-sexy with that beautiful pink & red Brandon Maxwell gown that reflects a color palette that’s everywhere, even Target.
Zendaya’s emerald green Vera Wang was on everyone’s best list and was definitely a showstopper.
Her style is growing in sophistication and I really like her new direction.
Start looking for copies of this dress.
3) Kendall Jenner
I liked Kendall Jenner’s gown by Richard Quinn though it was too much for the Emmy’s.
I can’t imagine how hot the latex top was, but it certainly upped the wow factor of the dress.
The red roses were right on trend and this was a look a model can certainly pull off.
Lena Headley looked the best ever for her final Game of Thrones red carpet.
Everything about her look worked and her Brock Collection mint floral dress with the black bow was right on trend.
5) Sandra Oh
I loved Sandra Oh’s bubblegum pink Zac Posen dress, but felt her hair was all wrong.
6) Jodie Comer
Jodie Comer killed it in her white Tom Ford dress.
I have been watching her acting improve with each show she’s on and I love seeing her style match her talent.
7) Catherine O'Hara
I want to close the hits by calling out Catherine O’Hara’s custom black & white column gown by Greta Constantine.
This was a classic yet fabulous look for a 65 year-old woman.
You go girl!
Overall, I thought the looks for this year’s Emmys were strong which made the misses stand out even more.
8) Gwendoline Christie
Can someone explain what Gwendoline Christie was thinking? What was with the Grecian goddess/warrior outfit. It was just so wrong.
With her height and beauty, she is a natural for wearing stunning outfits, so it makes me sad to see her where a costume rather than a gown.
9) Amy Poehler
Amy, Amy, Amy.
Poehler’s outfit made it look as if she had no desire to attend the awards due to the lack of effort she put into her gold jumpsuit.
10) Jenny McCarthy
Jenny McCarthy’s ensemble was just awful from the baby blue dress to the boots to the black belt.
